AICPA Membership Requirements

You must be a graduate of a domestic or non-U.S. college or university and one of the following is true regarding your completion of the Uniform Certified Public Accountant Examination:

• You intend to study for the exam.
• You are scheduled to take the exam.
• You are in the process of sitting for the exam.

Membership Time Limit: Membership in the CPA Exam Candidate Affiliate category is available for a maximum of 5 years from joining, or until you pass the Uniform CPA Examination or you qualify for another membership category, whichever comes first.

On passing the exam, you may then apply to join the Associate category.

You must also agree to abide by the AICPA Bylaws and Code of Professional Conduct.
