CPAexcel Product Tour
Speaker: The Wiley CPA Review Courses have revolutionized the way candidates prepare for the CPA exam, with its best in class content and state of the art learning platform. In this quick tour, we’ll walk you through how the Wiley CPAexcel Review Course works and what makes it different. We’ve organized the course into three easy steps: plan, study, and assess. The most important part of studying for the CPA exam is to have a plan. Our dynamic Exam Planner makes it easy. Just tell us the date you want to start studying, when you’re sitting for the exam, and how many hours you have to study.
We create a personalized exam plan to fit your schedule. You’ll have all your assignments and assessments mapped out down to the day. At the heart of Wiley CPAexcel are Bite-Sized Lessons. These lessons are written and taught by a team of esteemed accounting professors and can be completed in 30 to 45 minutes. Your Syllabus outlines all lessons and gives you a bird’s eye view of the entire exam section From here, open a Bite-Sized Lesson, you’ll have everything you need to study a topic, including a short video lecture, study, text, flashcards, slides, and more.
This broad mix of content is designed to optimize your retention and retrieval on exam day. Ask for advice or assistance from your instructor, and you’ll get an answer within 48 hours. When you’re done with the lesson, you’ll be ready to assess your knowledge. Throughout the course, you’ll be asked to take assessments at every turn. Some will be diagnostic assessments prior to a lesson, and others will be post lesson assessments to determine your mastery of a topic. A supplemental Test Bank is also available to drill on additional multiple choice questions and task based simulations at any time.
And so you know, Wiley CPA Review Courses have the largest pool of practice questions of any major CPA review provider, with more than 12,000 multiple choice questions and 500 task based simulations. When you’re ready to simulate the actual CPA exam, you’ll have access to an unlimited number of full length practice exams. These exams mirror the actual Prometric Testing experience with the same number of questions, simulations, time constraints, and break policies. The 11th Hour includes key topics and must knows, and it teaches you how to master them. It includes both lesson video and example problem videos. It includes focus tips, and what we have seen tested on the actual exam. We work actual exam problems. Now, to access the 11th Hour course please, login as a returning user on www.efficientlearning.com. Once logged in, click on the Launch icon from your My Products page.
That will then bring up the Dashboard page. Now, if this is your first time using the Wiley CPA 11th Hour Final Review Course
, you will be taken to the following Exam Planner page. On this page, you can click on the calendar icons to select your start and end date for the 11th Hour Review Course for this particular section.
Down below, you can choose the days of the week that you would like to study. And you can move the blue circular icons depending on how many hours per day that you can devote to your studies. You can see below here that the system will give you a finish date a couple of weeks before your actual sit date. That is so you have a little bit of time to go through a couple of the practice exams and maybe review areas that you’re weaker in.
Once you feel comfortable with this exam plan, simply click on the Preview icon, which will bring you to the following Syllabus page. If this Syllabus looks good, simply click on the Save button, or you can go back and edit your exam plan. Now, keep in mind that you can do what I just did at any time and click on Exam Planner or Plan Summary on your left nav bar, and you can change your start and end dates at any time.
In this case, I’m going to click on the Save button, which will drop me right into the Syllabus for the 11th Hour course. Now, going up to the top left nav bar here, and if I click on Dashboard, this will give me an overall course progress of the 11th Hour.
You can see here your Current Assignment, your Assignment Timeline widget, and below here, you can see a calendar view of your Exam Plan. You can also edit your Exam Plan from this calendar view. Over on the right, by selecting the little circular icons, you can see your completion. And lastly, you can see your total study time for this 11th Hour course.
By scrolling up, you’ll be able to see a student discussion, which is an online forum where you can chat with other students. You’ll also be able to search on terms or certain question ID numbers. To access the meat of the course, simply click on ‘Syllabus’ on the left hand nav bar.
And I always suggest to students to click on ‘Expand all here’ so you can see all the Bite-Sized Lessons. For example, in FAR, we have 31 Bite-Sized Lessons. On this page, you can change your syllabus order. And down below here, you can see a list of the assignment titles. The due date, the estimated total study time, you’re study time—if you’ve created any yet—number of points, your score—if you have one—and if you click on the little gray box over on the far right hand side of your screen, you’ll be able to skip any one of the Bite-Sized Lessons.
Just keep in mind if you do decide to skip a lesson, that your dashboard page later could tell you that a lesson is overdue because you have skipped it and that lesson hasn’t been completed yet.
We do suggest that you go in the order that these Bite-Sized Lessons are in. So, if the is your first time getting into the FAR 11th Hour, we would suggest that you click on the Welcome and view the tutorial videos for the Welcome page.
Then we suggest that you go through the Meet the Professors and then go down to Hot Topics. And in this example, I’m going to select number 3, Accrual Accounting. This is what we consider the lesson overview page. On this page, over to the right, you’ll be able to customize this. So, if there are certain tools that you don’t want to see, or do want to see, you can add and remove them from your overview page by customizing.
If you click on the little three dot icon over on the right, you’ll be able to split your screen into two by clicking on double column view. You also can print from here. So, if there are areas that you’d like to print out, click on print. The following pop up will appear. And you can choose by clicking on what items you would like to print.
You can also provide feedback to the professor by clicking on Give Feedback. And as you scroll down here over to the right, you’ll see a Current Grade, Your Total Time Spent. And as you scroll down, you’ll see the videos for this particular lesson. You’ll also be able to take notes by clicking on the little notes icon over on the right hand side of your screen.
And keep in mind all your notes and highlights will be located over on the left hand nav bar, under notes and highlights. As you scroll down, you’ll next see the slides. And then lastly, once you’ve gone through all of the items on this lesson overview page, simply click on ‘Mark this assignment as complete’, which will then tell the dashboard page and the assignment timeline widget that you have completed this assignment.
And at this time, you can go to Next Assignment. Now returning back to our Syllabus page here. Once you’ve completed all 30 Bite-Sized Lessons, we do suggest that you click on number 31, which is your practice exam.
This practice exam is going to be different than the A and B and unlimited practice exams that you will have seen if you have our Silver, Gold, or Platinum courses. This practice exam consists of new multiple choice questions and simulations and it is formatted in the same user interface that you will see on the actual exam.
You can go to an assignment or an assessment by just clicking on the Current Assignment here which will drop you right into the assignment that’s due at this time. You can also select metrics over on the left hand nav bar.
And this will allow you, under Display, to click on a drop down where you can choose to display your metrics by Study Time, by Area, Group, Topic, the AICPA CISO, or by Lesson. You also have the ability to download your metrics. Down below here, you’ll be able to see your practice exam sessions.
If there’s maybe a practice exam that you took that you’d like to remove the score from your dashboard, simply click on that Practice Exam and click on Archive Checked. By archiving that session, you will be removing the score from your dashboard page.
This concludes the tutorial on our new CPAexcel 11th Hour course. If you have questions, please click on the ‘Contact/Chat’ button located in your top toolbar and customer service will be more than happy to assist you. Learn more about the Wiley CPA 11th Hour Final Review Course Here here
